SAVE THE HONEY BEES
It’s all about the Queen. The Hive needs a Queen to survive. The Queen releases pheromones to send out messages to the bees. Queen lays 1,500+ eggs a day.
Worker Bees are female and start off as a Hive Bee (cleaning, feeding larvae, feeding Queen), then a Field Bee (guarding, wax secretion, comb building, nectar ripening, foraging).
Drone Bees are male and their job is to mate with the Queen during her mating flight. Drone Bees are larger than worker bees and they do not have a stinger.
Plant a variety of NON-GMO and Chemical Free Flowers. Bees needs flowers that bloom at different times of the season. Some flowers produce needed pollen, some flowers produce needed nectar, some flowers produce both.
Please do not use chemicals on your lawns, flowers, and trees.
Spraying for mosquitos effects bees and their hives.
Provide fresh clean water. Like all creatures, honeybees need water. A birdbath works great. A rough edge so they can climb out if they fall in or a floatation they can climb out on. A floating plastic lily pad works great.
Please do Not spray bees. Call a Beekeeper to extract or come pick up a swarm of bees before they make a home within your home. The Bees just want a safe home.
Hives contain anywhere from 10,000 to 80,000 bees and sometimes even more.
